importance of meeting deadlines in business and education

Deadlines are there for a reason. You should never miss a deadline because you are making yourself look irresponsible. Deadlines are important.

By missing a deadline in education, you will suffer. Your teachers won't care as much as your boss would in business, but you will suffer a lot. Your grade will be lowered and you will fall behind in the class. You should always pay close attention to deadlines.

By missing a deadline in business, you could loose your job. You would also fall behind in your job and in your workplace. I think that missing a deadline in business is more important than missing one in school. I think this because you could lose a lot by missing a deadline in business. You could lose your job and the opportunity for a raise or promotion.

Deadlines are always important. In business and education, you can fall behind a lot. When a boss or teacher sets a deadline, it is a test for you. It is a test to see how dedicated you are. If you meet a deadline, it shows that you are responsible. Your teacher and/or boss will have gained respect for you.  If you miss it, your teacher and/or boss will lose respect for you.

Accepting criticism of your wiki posts and netiquette involved with criticism/comments

People these days get a little sloppy with grammar. Some people are even too lazy to proofread things. Proofreading is very important, but if you miss a mistake on a wiki, people can correct you by leaving a comment.

Leaving a comment can be very helpful for a wiki. No one wants mistakes in their reports or even their wikis. It is important for people to accept criticism and use it for their advantage. If you are leaving a correction on someone's wiki, you should probably use netiquette and not be rude. Make sure you are not wrong about your correction, either. For the wiki owner who is receiving the criticism, they should be polite about it as well. For example, you should correct your error. You should also reply back to the commenter and say thank you for the help. Being polite and using netiquette is incredibly important.

If you do not accept criticism in the right way, you can come off as rude. Coming off as rude is not good. It is not good because your visitors to your wiki would think you're rude. If they think you're rude, they will not think your wiki is good and they will not visit it.

Wikis

Wikis are very convenient for communicating.  I think they are helpful.  Wikis are a good form of communication because you can collaborate the work on the wiki. May people can collaborate on it at once.  It is also incredibly easy to spread and post information. You can also comment on people’s wikis. This could be a great way to learn even more information. One of the best uses is probably for education. If you are doing a report on something with a group of different students, you can all work on it at the same time on a wiki. This is just like a Google Document. Also, if you need to work on a project as a group but your other group members are not nearby, you can work at the same time and communicate through a wiki. They are very convenient.

Wiki is also very easy to use. You can also control the privacy settings, so it’s safe. This way your information isn’t leaking everywhere.

A good example of wikis being productive is Wikipedia. Everyone has heard of this. It is very productive for communication and education. Everyone can edit Wikipedia so it is always getting more information on it. It’s easy to collaborate and learn new opinions from other collaborators.

Using Digital Communicationt to Present my Digital Communication Tool

My digital communication tool is Windows Live Messenger. So far for my presentation, I have used a powerpoint to make my presentation. I used Google Docs to create it.

I also used Diigo. By using Diigo, I bookmarked the sites that I used. I bookmarked a total of three sites and tagged them with pphs-speech that way my class can easily access them.

To share my communication tool with the class, I can also use my own tool to show it. I can do this by having someone else in the class create their own Windows Live Messenger while I am on mine. I can then video chat with the classmate and explain how it works. That would be killing two birds with one stone; showing how to create an account and to show how productive and useful it can be.

I also am using YouTube for my presentation. I have placed a video into my Google Docs presentation. The video is a demonstration on how to use Windows Live Messenger.

So far, I have used Powerpoint, Google Docs, Diigo, and YouTube. There are still many other digital communication skills available to use. They are everywhere. I didn't even realize how many digital communication skills I've used until I wrote this blog.

Diigo.

Diigo can be used for everyone, but businesses really get a kick out of it.
Businesses can use Diigo to communicate in a new, easy way. It's an easy way to share comments and links with coworkers and even costumers.Online bookmarking is a stepping stone for greatness.

High school students and college students can also have a good use for Diigo. Diigo can help them share information and link information to other people. It's also easier to organize information. Since high school students usually have a problem with organization, this can be a very helpful tool. It is also helpful because it can be reached anywhere. You can even read bookmarks without being online.
Something I find really interesting is that you can capture a picture of the screen and annotate the screen shot. You can add sticky notes with your own comments. This way, you can share your own information that you need someone to see. You can also highlight things to add emphasis on something important. You can even highlight in different colors! Privacy controls can always control safety and privacy for high school students.

Diigo can really be a helpful tool for everyone. Overall, Diigo is a very useful tool.

Digital Communication

Digital communication is very popular in this day and age. It is used for many things by many different ages. It's very helpful and in this day and age it is a necessary tool for a lot of people worldwide. It is used by all age groups and is a necessity for them. Digital communication will only become more popular.

Some forms of digital communication are IM communications, Facebook, Myspace, texting, and many more such as email. All of these can be necessities for many people, including myself. They become addicting. A lot of people who have these things cannot imagine life without them. This is a normal thing for people. They make life a lot more interesting and easier.

Overall, digital communication will only increase in popularity. More and more types of digital communication are created each year and if people don't start learning about them now, they will just fall behind and not have a clue about what is going on in the future.
