Augmented Reality.

My team's topic is Augmented Reality. It "refers to the addition of a computer-assisted contextual layer of information over the real world, creating a reality that is enhanced or augmented." Augmented reality has been around for over 30 years, but it keeps evolving into bigger and better things.
My team is discussing how it can be used in entertainment. It is used for historical purposes a lot. Augmented reality allows tourists to visit places without actually being there. It is also used for GPS type of things.
There are also augmented books. 3D characters can come out of the books. I think that's really cool. There are also some cool games that have been made with augmented reality.
I do not know much about augmented reality yet. I've read about it and I am ready to learn more. I hope my team is full of hardworkers. I have sent all of them a friend request on NetGen that have a NetGen account. Hopefully we can discuss our project soon. I am looking forward to being a member of a team who live in different areas of the world. It should be exciting.

teachers could change their style of teaching using Tapscott's Norms to make lessons more appealing and easier to learn for today's learners.

Teachers should change their style of teaching using Tapscott's Norms to make lessons more appealing and easier to learn for today's learners. Although this may be hard and difficult, sometimes I think it's worth it.

The world of technology is changing all the time. If schools like Pleasant Plains High School sticks with the technology that they have chosen in the beginning, the students will suffer. In college, technology is being updated more frequently. When we get to college, there will be different and new technology than what we used in high school. We will be behind other students who went to high school with technology that was constantly being updated.

Teachers should change their style. In some schools students use laptops in class to take notes and do research. This is faster, more fun, and easier in my opinion. In Mr. Langley's room we use laptops and I love it. In all my other classes we aren't even ATTEMPTING to use technology. I think the classrooms need to update.

But there's always the situation of money. It costs a lot of money to stay updated with technology, but in my opinion, it's worth it. Lessons would be more appealing and easier to learn from.

If more classrooms used laptops in class, students would be more interested. Each student should have their own laptop and travel from classroom to classroom with it. This would be easy to contain all of their information and it would also be more fun. Today's learners use technology during their own time, so while they are at school they should be able to at least be in the current technology state that they are at at their own house.

Tapscott's eight Net Gen Norms

There are eight Net Gen Norms. They are freedom, customization, scrutiny, integrity, collaboration,  entertainment, speed, and innovation. These are all discussed by Don Tapscott.

The freedom we have nowadays is really amazing and cool. Don Tapscott states, “We’re given the technology that allows us to be mobile, so I don’t understand why we need to be restricted to a desk; it feels like you’re being micromanaged.” Then he talks about how some companies like Google let their workers have free time. Others have fitness centers and other fun things for employees.

Customization is amazing as well. In today's world, you can customize anything. I love customizing things. You can customize blogs, iPods, and basically everything else.

Net Geners are new scrutinizers. We (the youth) can determine fiction from fact online according to Don Tapscott.

Net Geners have a lot of integrity. They display "wisdom and tolerance."

In today's world, we can collaborate very easily. There are many different ways to collaborate such as Google Docs.
Speed is also discussed by Tapscott. In today's world, we need speed. If something isn't going fast enough, we get upset and sometimes we give up. We like fast connections.

Innovation is also discussed by Tapscott. He said, "they are constantly looking for innovative ways to collaborate, entertain themselves, learn, and work." I believe this is true.

Entertainment is also discussed by Tapscott. He says that "This generation brings a playful mentality to work...and has been bred on interactive experiences."  I think this is true as well. We bring a new point of view on things. We love entertainment.

He discusses these eight Neg Gen Norms very well.
